John Mock has combined his love of New England and Ireland with his talents as a composer and instrumentalist to bring “From the Shoreline” to the concert hall.
During the concert, John plays the guitar, concertina, tin whistle, and mandolin while the symphony orchestra paints an emotionally evocative landscape. These works reflect the essence of the lands that have inspired John and invite the listener to come along for the journey.

“John Mock is a composer who knows how to feature the orchestra while fusing classical, folk and popular styles into powerful new works.”
- Paul Gambill, Music Director Nashville Chamber Orchestra
“... wonderfully evocative and beautifully written and performed. Audience reaction was very positive. The orchestra also really enjoyed the concert, not least because the orchestrations were superb and the materials exemplary.”
- Robin Fountain, Music Director, Southwest Michigan Symphony
“[With] original compositions, John has masterfully resurrected the history and magic of a land everyone forgot they came from.”
- Amazon.com Reviews
“Stunning and soul-stirring... John Mock has absorbed the maritime geography, internalized it, and fashioned it into a different kind of coastline washed in melody and harmony.”
- Craig Bickhardt
